George Lucas: The Creative Impuse is a non-fiction book written by Charles Champlin, with forewords by Steven Spielberg and Francis Coppola. It discusses the productions from Lucasfilm's first twenty years, as well as the wider influences of George Lucas.
The book was published in September 1992 by Harry N. Abrams, Inc., and copies were included with the release of Star Wars Trilogy: The Definitive Collection in 1993. An abridged version of the book was also included with Star Wars Trilogy: Special Letterbox Collector's Edition. In 1997, Abrams published a revised and updated edition which covered Lucasfilm's first twenty-five years.
