Gibad was one of the hundreds of agriworlds located in the Outer Rim Territories' Abrion sector. Shortly after the outbreak of the Clone Wars, the sector's senator, Esu Rotsino led the entire sector, including Gibad, in defecting from the Galactic Republic to the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Rotsino then represented Gibad and the other worlds of the Abrion sector in the Separatist Senate.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Gibad was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] The planet was originally created for the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the 2009 novel Imperial Commando: 501st, which was written by Karen Traviss and published by Del Rey.[2]
