Gipson Coloda was man criminal who lived on Corellia during the time of the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, he was the right hand of the crime lord Olag Greck. During that time, the Greck criminals went into the investigation of the Tyrena city councilmen Lyman Zavala and CorSec Captain Dool. At some point, Lyman Zavala dispatched a group of spacers to strike the Greck headquarters. The spacers fought Gipson Coloda to get access to Olag Greck's private sanctum and eventually killed Greck himself.

Dialogue pertaining to Gipson Coloda appeared in the directory tree files for the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. According to these files, introduced with the "Publish 28," on April 26, 2006, Gipson Coloda would have been involved in a questline named "Tyrena - Lyman Zavala." However, he is not known to have appeared on the game's live servers as a proper non-player character.
