A glacier fly was a flying insect that was native to the area surrounding Echo Base on[1] the planet[2] Hoth. The appearance of a glacier fly resembled ice and their size was considered "tiny" to human eyes. They had a symbiotic relationship to another species, the fork-nosed ice worm. When Luke Skywalker was new to Echo Base, he caught one that Reyé Hollis had barely seen and it rested on the palm of his hand before he encouraged it to fly away.[1]
