Glasses were optical instruments consisting of a frame holding a pair of lenses for improving eyesight. Some glasses were held in place by hand, like the pair occasionally used by Nuvo Vindi;[5] other models had arms which rested over the ears, like the ones worn by some natives of Vyndal.[9] Inspector Thanoth of the Galactic Empire often wore a monocle over his left eye during the Imperial Era.[6] During a meeting with Arihnda Pryce, the Chiss Mitth'raw'nuruodo wore glasses in order to disguise his red eyes so that others would believe him to be a Pantoran.[10]
Behind the scenes[]
Although George Lucas did not want eyeglasses to be present in his films,[11] such devices have nonetheless appeared in other canon sources such as "Blue Shadow Virus" of The Clone Wars: Season One[5] and "Double Agent Droid," the nineteenth episode of the animated television series Star Wars Rebels' third season.[4]
