Gold Two was the call sign of the second member of Gold Squadron. There were multiple starfighter squadrons with this name, and several pilots went by the call sign Gold Two.
History[]
During the Clone Wars, a clone trooper pilot flew a V-19 Torrent starfighter under the call sign Gold Two for the Galactic Republic at the Battle of Muunilinst.[1]
While defending the Galactic Senate from a Separatist Trihexalon attack, "Gold Two", a Gold Group Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor pilot, voiced an appreciation for the predictability of the enemy's droid starfighters.[5]
Rebel Alliance BTL Y-wing starfighter pilot Tiree[6] used the call sign when he flew with Gold Squadron during the Battle of Yavin. Tiree was killed in the assault against the first Death Star.[2]
In the lead up to the Battle of Endor, Ace Azzameen flew as Gold Two for a mission to meet with a delegation from the Bothan Spynet, the recapture of his family's space station, the rescue of Bothan spies from Imperial Customs, and while escorting the Defiance and Independence groups to the Rebel staging ground near Sullust.[7]
During the Second Battle of Endor, an Alliance of Free Planets pilot using the call sign Gold Two was ordered to provide cover for a squadronmate flying as Gold Four.[3]
During a simulation exercise to qualify for Wedge Antilles's new squadron, New Republic Thakwaash pilot Hohass Ekwesh used the call sign of Gold Two.[4]
