- "But huge though it is, the Kroolok's victims never even know it's there, hiding among the trees, ready to pounce on its prey, before it strikes. By then it's too late. Yuzzums, Gorphs, and Duloks, none are safe…all devoured in a single bite…"
- ―Logray, to Kneesaa
Gorphs were an amphibious sentient species who were native to the Forest Moon of Endor.[1] They possessed green skin, and bluish-gray eyes with yellow sclera. Additionally, each of their hands possessed three webbed finger, and a singular protrusion was present atop their heads.[2] One winter, the Ewok shaman Logray of Endor's Bright Tree Village claimed to Princess Kneesaa that the legendary Krooloks could eat Gorphs in a single bite.[3] In 4 ABY,[4] after thwarting the Imperial officer Tern Koyatta's attempted retrieval of an Imperial weapons cache, the Ewoks of Bright Tree Village invited several of their neighbors to an event, with the intent of promoting unity on the moon. At least one Gorph was present at the event, wearing a red and purple garment and handing an animal skull to Logray.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Gorphs were first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the thirty-eighth issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine, published by De Agostini[1] around September 23, 2015.[5] They were first pictured in the fourth issue of the 2024 Star Wars: Ewoks comic-book series, which was written by Steve Orlando, illustrated by Laura Braga and Álvaro López,[2] and published on January 29, 2025.[6]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Gorphs first appeared in "Princess Latara,"[7] the fourth episode in the second season of the animated television series Ewoks. The episode was written by Paul Dini and premiered on September 20, 1986.[8]
