"Some local Ragtags keep messing with me and my work. That's partly why I agreed to a relocation to another planet, but I'd still like to stick it to those Ragtags."
Strilath Farles, to a spacer[2]

Gramo Murah was a Human male member of the Ragtag gang who lived on Corellia during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"Oh really. Ha, that's...hmm. Wait a second. Tell you what, if you help me with a little problem, I'll tell you what you want to know."
―Strilath Farles, to a spacer[2]

Gramo Murah was the leader of a small group of Ragtags based in a bunker in the Nomad Mountains. After the Battle of Yavin, Murah's goons entered into a violent conflict with another criminal organization, the Meatlumps,[2] fanatical anti-technology thugs.[3] The Ragtags eventually forced Strilath Farles' band of Meatlumps to relocate from Corellia to the planet Talus.[2]

In 1 ABY,[1] the Corellia Times reporter Vani Korr tasked a spacer to deal with Strilath Farles in exchange for information about the Meatlumps. The Meatlump lieutenant wanted his revenge on the Ragtags and the adventurer accepted to rid him of Gramo Murah and his gang. The spacer attacked the Ragtag bunker in the mountains and finally killed Gramo Murah and some of the Ragtag goons. The spacer also destroyed their stash of stolen goods. In the end, the death of Gramo Murah was meaningless since Strilath Farles eventually refused to share any information.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Gramo Murah appeared as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] Gramo Murah was added to the game with the update dubbed "Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King," released on June 19, 2008.[5]

This non-player character (NPC) was known in the game as Gramo Murah or Mramo Gurah, depending of the Combat Level (CL) of the player. If the player performed the quest "The Meatlumps Hideout, Part 4" during the leveling of their character (at CL 65), the NPC would be named Gramo Murah. If the player performed the quest after the end of the game (at CL 90), the NPC would be named Mramo Gurah. Multiple story elements indicated that the quest was intended to be achieved at CL 65.[2]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
