Grathus was a terrestrial planet[4] located in the Grathus system, a part of the Jospro sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] The planet featured several large mud basin settlements, including one which contained a tavern owned by Xig Rollem.[4]

At some point by 3 ABY,[5] the shipping destination of one newly built Lovolan Supreme-class servant droid was accidentally changed due to an error in the manufacturer's computer network. The servant droid, Threna, was transported to Grathus, whose inhabitants were instead expecting to receive scorched parts for waste storage.[4]

Rollem subsequently put the droid to work at his tavern serving refreshments. The polite attitude of Threna, who was originally designed for employment at luxurious locales, made the establishment's clientele enjoy her company, with the tavern's previously rowdy patrons becoming more well-behaved as a result.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Grathus was introduced in "Toria Tell's Droid Journal," an article written by Christian Piccolo and published in the tenth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal magazine in May 1996.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Grathus system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square R-7.[3]
