The Great Assembly House was a building on the planet Serenno. In this bell-shaped hall, members of the Great Houses of Serenno—the six major noble families—met to discuss matters of planetary importance. Members of the lesser houses also took part to the parliament, although performing a purely advisory role.[1]
History[]
Shortly after the end of the Clone Wars, Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader drove the heirs of the Great Houses to mass parricide that came to be known as the Cleansing of Serenno. As a result, the Great Houses were brought in the bosom of the newly formed Galactic Empire, and Adan Dooku was appointed Count of Serenno, liege lord of all the other patricians on the planet. Most of the galactic community never knew what really happened on Serenno that day, only that the event had seen the replacement of the old heads of houses by their sons.[1]
Following the assassination of Adan Dooku in 3 BBY, the Great Houses gathered to find a suitable regent for the new Count of the House Dooku, the ten-year-old Bron Dooku.[1] Following the apparent death of Bron, Orom Malvern was then named the Count of Serenno with support of both the Great Houses, the new Count Pero Borgin, and the commander of the Imperial fleet.[2]
