The Great Canyon, also known as Vass Meindras,[1] was a wide canyon on the planet Dathomir. It was located just north of the Frenzied River,[3] between the Red Hills and the Northern Lakes.[4] A small river surrounded by lush vegetation flowed at the bottom of the canyon.[1]

The bottom of the Great Canyon
Around the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Witches of Dathomir of the Great Canyon Clan had their settlement at the bottom of the Great Canyon. In 23 ABY, the Dark Jedi Brakiss set up camp here to search for experienced dark side adepts to join the Second Imperium's Shadow Academy.[2]
