The Grand Migration was an annual, month-long mass migration of bird species on the Chiss Ascendancy planet of Shihon. During their wandering year, the young Chiss Yoponek and Yomie visited the planet to see the migration, bringing their Agbui companions Haplif, Shimkif, and others along.[1]
Shimkif poisoned many local birds to divert the Grand Migration, hoping to expedite the time that Yomie would be willing to leave the planet. While Shimkif's poisoning of the birds led to the cancellation of the Grand Migration, Yomie insisted on staying on Shihon and watching a lesser bird migration in Shihon's Panopyl Mountains.[1]
