The Great Sith Wars were a series of conflicts between the Jedi and the Sith that lasted many centuries,[2] starting between circa 5000 BBY and 4000 BBY.[1] The Great Hyperspace War was said to have begun around the same time as well: circa 5000 BBY.[4]
A frieze depicting a battle from the Great Sith Wars had adorned the chambers of a Sith Emperor[5] during or after around 4000 BBY.[6] The bas-relief later came under the possession of Sheev Palpatine after an archaeological dig on the moon Yavin 4.[7]
Behind the scenes[]
The Great Sith Wars first appeared in a bas-relief in the film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[8] They where identified as such in the 2023 reference book Star Wars 100 Objects.[2] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the conflict depicted on the bas-relief was identified as the Great Hyperspace War.[9]
