The Great Storm was a natural disaster[2] that occurred in 82 BBY[1] in which solar disturbances sent powerful waves of energized radiation into the atmosphere of the thriving planet Metagos. The waves boiled the world's seas, scoured its surface to glass with three-hundred-kilometer per hour winds, and killed ninety percent of the population. With billions dead, the few remaining millions were forced to take shelter underground, leading to the criminal factions that already dwelt there to gain power over what was left of the planet.[2]
