"Green Company: prepare to repel the enemy!"
―Commander Gree[1]

Green Company was the name of a company of clone troopers, a part of the 41st Elite Corps. The unit was responsible for the reclamation of Rishi, and the defence of the Venator-class Star Destroyer, Tranquility.

History[]

Battle on Rishi[]

Cooker

"Cooker", one of the best sharpshooters in Green Company

In 21 BBY, trying to obtain the exonium needed for their sonic weapons, an army of Geonosian led battle droids, a part of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, invaded the planet of Rishi. Hearing of this invasion, the Republic dispatched members of the Green Company, alongside Jedi Master Kit Fisto, to stop the Separatists.[2]

While awaiting Jedi General Kit Fisto's arrival, Green Company was forced to attack the Geonosian controlled mines by their leader, Chieftain Gwarrk. This attack caused the company to suffer a large amount of casualties. On the verge of defeat, General Kit Fisto arrived on the battlefield. With the help of clone trooper 2242, nicknamed "Cooker", Kit Fisto and Green Company managed to defeat the CIS, and return Rishi to its rightfull owners.[2]

Skirmish on the Tranquility[]

Skirmish on the Tranquility

Members of Green Company defend the Tranquility from attack.

After Senator Padmé Amidala was betrayed and nearly captured on Rodia, the 41st Elite Corps came to her aid, after they had received a plea for help by C-3PO. The 41st secured the captured Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray, and took him to the Tranquility, where he was imprisoned.[3]

Twenty one clone troopers from the Green Company, under the command of Green Leader, were present on the Tranquility, when it was attacked by Separatist droid starfighters and boarding craft.[1]

Commander Gree sent Green Company to eliminate the Separatist boarding party. Most of the company was killed by B2 super battle droid's. The B2's shot missiles on positions where more troopers where killing them quickly. Green Leader sent a message to his Commander, but was exterminated moments after by an advancing super battle droid. One of the last members of Green Company tried to get a message to the crew members, but was swiftly cut down by the Separatist assassin Asajj Ventress. Only six clones successfully retreated to the detention level. Three of the six were killed in a brave attempt to stop the droids when they advanced on the level. Finally, Jedi Master, Luminara Unduli, and Commander Gree, reinforced the three survivors and stopped the super battle droid rescue party. However, Gunray was successful in escaping, and as Ventress made her way to the ship Gunray was on, she killed two more Green Company troopers, before escaping.[1]

GreenCompanyConcept

Concept art of the Green Company, from Cloak of Darkness

The Green Company was originally created by Paul Dini and Dave Filoni for the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series, where it appeared in the ninth episode of the first season, "Cloak of Darkness".[1] The company also appeared in the flash back sequence of the tenth episode, "Lair of Grievous."[4] Green Company's last appearance was in the Dark Horse Comics story, "The Clone Wars: The Gauntlet of Death," where they assisted Jedi Master Kit Fisto on Rishi.[2] On the cardback of a 2009 Commander Gree action figure, it is stated that the Green Company was the nickname given by the commander to his 41st Elite Corps. This might be a mistake; however, as a company and a corps cannot be the same by definition.[5]
