Grenade fungi was a species of fungus native to the moon Yavin 4. There, they grew alongside climbing ferns and bioluminescent orchids in the moon's Massassi tree forests.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Grenade fungi was first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 2: Yavin and Bespin, a Star Wars Legends supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game which was written by Jonatha Ariadne Caspian and released in 1989. The fungus was confirmed to be canon by the reference book Ultimate Star Wars, which was released in 2015.
