"And that flashing light in the cockpit? That's a custom comms jammer. I'd recognize Grenyt's work anywhere."
―Chio Fain, aboard the Broken Wing[src]

Grenyt was an individual who created a custom communications jammer. During the cyborg bounty hunter Beilert Valance's hunt for the Sith Lord Darth Vader[1] at some point prior to the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY,[2] the slicer Chio Fain noticed a device installed in the cockpit of Valance's starship, the Broken Wing, and assumed it was Grenyt's jammer. Fain believed that it had jammed the signals of the TIE fighters they encountered and destroyed on their way to the Outer Rim world of Arvina.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Grenyt was mentioned in the second issue of the 2019 comic-book miniseries Star Wars: Target Vader, written by Robbie Thompson, illustrated by Stefano Landini, and published by Marvel Comics[1] on August 14, 2019.[3]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 Target Vader 2
  2. Star Wars: Target Vader is set before Empire Ascendant 1, which in turn takes place before the Battle of Hoth. Since Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the battle to 3 ABY, the events of Target Vader, including the hunt for Vader, must have taken place sometime prior.
