"Did you just make a joke? Are you ok? Do you want to lie down?"
―A spacer, to Grenz Zittoun[2]

Grenz Zittoun was an Aqualish male member of the Lok Revenants who lived on Lok during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"Hastily squashed rumor has it that the Sulfur Lake Pirates captured a particularly repulsive creature native to Lok and have taken to referring to it as 'Nym's Girlfriend'!"
"*snicker*"
"This is no laughing matter! This creature must be found and destroyed before Nym finds out!"
―Grenz Zittoun and a spacer[1]

After the Battle of Yavin, Grenz Zittoun was a member of the Lok Revenants and a lieutenant of their leader Nym. He used to work in Nym's palace, in the city known as Nym's Stronghold.[1]

In 1 ABY,[3] Zittoun was involved in most major operations of the Lok Revenants.[1][4][2] That year, the Lok Revenants assaulted the hideout of their enemies, the Sulfur Lake Pirates, to retrieve the valuable memory module of an Imperial droid.[5] Grenz Zittoun tasked a spacer involved in this mission to kill a grotesque creature named Nym's Girlfriend so that it could no longer serve as a derisive symbol for the pirates.[1] The same year, the Lok Revenants raided an Imperial mine where the release of an unknown toxic gas had made the miners become completely crazy and very hostile.[6] Zittoun requested the spacer to eliminate two miners, the grand foreman Rel Rogock and the mine controller Teemu Komo, who were responsible for random attacks on the inhabitants of Lok.[4] Later, the Revenants attacked an Imperial research facility on Lok to steal experimental weapons developed and produced there.[7] This time, Grenz Zittoun asked the spacer to kill Kell Lapaz and Udo Barnet, the leaders of the mercenaries who defended the facilities.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Grenz Zittoun was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[8] Grenz Zittoun was added to the game as part of the revamped "Nym's Theme Park,"[1] released with the "Game Update 16," on March 23, 2010.[9]

  3. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
