- "Every great cause requires sacrifices...whether it's accepting Hutt resources for sowing chaos in the right places or recruiting raw soldiers."
- ―Lord Guattako the Grim about his revolutionary beliefs
Biography[edit | edit source]
Warlord Guattako the Grim was the leader of an army of children he had kidnapped for his cause. One recruit was Quia, whom he rescued from poverty as child and corrupted with his hate. Eventually, Guattako began to receive resources from the Hutts for his cause.
During the waning years of the Galactic Republic, Guattako slaughtered several teachers and kidnapped their respective twenty-six students as recruits. Master Mace Windu of the Jedi Order searched for the Padawans but was captured by Quia and the Kyuzo Kyossk. They brought him before Guattako once his lightsaber was broken, planning to broadcast Windu's execution across the galaxy so the Jedi's death could inspire many new converts into his cause.
However, as the pair argued about the ethics of Guattako's cause, Windu revealed that he had sent Force signals to his comrades in the Jedi Order and used the Force to reconstruct his lightsaber. Guattako's men attacked Windu, but he disarmed and overpowered them. Guattako then fought Windu, but was shot dead by one of his child soldiers who wished to return home.
Personality and traits[edit | edit source]
Guattako was a ruthless warlord who didn't see any problem in sending children to fight to death for a cause whose motives he considered pure in spite of being funded by the Hutts. According to Guattako himself, every great cause required sacrifices, even if that meant accepting Hutt resources for sowing chaos in the right places or recruiting raw soldiers. He considered himself a good enough leader as he was able to scare the esteemed Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum, believing that his teachings would be greater for his abducted soldiers than Windu's.
