Gureishia were a species of whale of ambiguous sentience that dwelled in a sea of Hoth. They could communicate with protocol droids such as C-3PO and would be friendly to Humans and droids.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
These creatures first appeared in the 1987 Japanese Star Wars video game for the Famicom home console.[1] Their name was revealed in the Japanese language guide of the game serialized in Family Computer Magazine, in which it was rendered as グレイシア (Gureishia) in katakana syllabary.[2]
