"I have another lead. A small-time thug named Gwhirrye Baric. He runs a spice racket out of a small hospital here in Doaba Guerfel."
Lilith Laughlin, to a spacer[1]

Gwhirrye Baric was a male Trandoshan small-time thug who lived on Corellia during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"There's these rogue CorSec miscreants lead by a bloke named Xyrias Undea. If they were to suddenly disappear so they can't muscle in on my rackets, I reckon my memory might return."
―Gwhirrye Baric, to a spacer[1]

After the Battle of Yavin, Gwhirrye Baric resided in the city of Doaba Guerfel on the planet Corellia, where he ran a spice racket out of a small hospital.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] a group of Rogue CorSec criminals led by Xyrias Undea harassed his business. Around the same time, a CorSec agent working for Captain Vitala Baize interrogated Baric about a criminal organization known as the Chirq Council. The thug begged the agent to deal with his Rogue CorSec problem in exchange for information. The agent thus fought and killed several Rogue CorSec miscreants, including Xyrias Undea. Gwhirrye Baric later agreed with giving information about the spice dealer Trins Evnar.[1]

  2. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
