HK-55 duplicate announces surprise

HK-55's perfect duplicate

In 3631 BBY,[2] HK-55 was destroyed while protecting his master from Eternal Emperor Arcann.[3] His chassis were recovered, and the Alliance chief scientist Dr. Juvard Illip Oggurobb rebuilt the droid in his laboratory on Odessen, with some modifications to his appearance.[4] At some point HK-55 was kidnapped by the Shroud and taken to his base at the Coil. The Shroud, or rather replicator droid Z0-0M who took on his identity, used captured HK-55 as a template and was able to create a perfect copy of him before his destruction. This copy was then programmed to safeguard the Shroud and the base. But when an accident erased her memories and personality, the new Zeeyo gladly freed HK-55 from restraints and helped him escape.[1]

HK-55 duplicate commences blasting

"HK-55" attacks HK-55 and Zeeyo.

Together they came across the base hangar, where the duplicate HK-55 was waiting for them. The duplicate was amused by his master's lack of memories and displayed a holorecordings of her relaying orders to an impersonator, revealing that she was responsible for capturing HK-55 and was planning on wiping his memory with an electrical surge, only to accidentally get affected herself. The duplicate then attacked HK-55 and Zeeyo, but was critically damaged in the fight. The base began to initiate its self-destruct mechanism, and when the computer requested the deactivation code Zeeyo pleaded the duplicate HK-55 to stop the sequence, but he merely replied that the computer wasn't talking to him before expiring. HK-55 and Zeeyo narrowly escaped the base's destruction in a shuttle.[1]
