"When I was asked if I wanted to do this I was both extremely excited and extremely nervous. It's a literal dream to be able to add to the lore of Star Wars."
―Hank Green on his short story[1]

Hank Green is an author who wrote "A Naturalist on Hoth," one of the stories in From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back, which focuses on a tauntaun caretaker at Echo Base[2] named Kell Tolkani.[3]

Green was excited yet nervous to add to the canon of the Star Wars universe when he was approached to write one of the stories in From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.[1] He recalled rewatching Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back several times to find inspiration for his short story, and he eventually realized Echo Base would have been staffed with a number of scientists.[4] This idea grew into[5] the character of Tolkani.[3]
