Description

Harrin was the primary planet of the Harrin system,[3] a part of the Harrin sector[1] in the Trailing Sectors portion of[2] the Inner Rim.[1] It lay on the super-hyperroute known as the Corellian Trade Spine, which linked it to the Moorja and Yag'Dhul systems. Harrin was also situated at the endpoint of the Harrin Trade Corridor, which connected it to the Wroona system.[2]

History

The area of space surrounding Harrin was explored between 20,000 BBY and 15,000 BBY.[2] Harrin became a part of the Galactic Republic at some point between 17,000 BBY and 12,000 BBY. By the latter year, the planet fell within the territory known as the Corellian Hegemony, which was economically dominated by the Core Worlds planet Corellia.[4]

During the Clone Wars of 22 BBY19 BBY, Harrin fell within the borders of the Confederacy of Independent Systems,[2] and during the first campaigns of that conflict, the Nineteenth Army of the Republic Military was tasked with engaging the military forces of the Confederacy in the surrounding space. By 17 BBY, Harrin was situated in the territory controlled by the Galactic Empire.[4] The population of the Harrin system around 25 ABY numbered from 1 billion to 10 billion.[2]

Behind the scenes

Harrin was first mentioned in Twin Stars of Kira, a 1993 supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Within the book, the planet was mentioned in a section authored by Stephen Crane.[5] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Harrin system, and therefore the planet Harrin, in grid square L-15.[2]
