Hawkbat Battalion was a battalion in the Grand Army of the Republic commanded by Clone Major Twelve, and was one of four battalions under the 101st Regiment. It sorted under the 101st Regiment, 7th Legion, 327th Star Corps, 2nd Sector Army, and Systems Army Alpha.

Description[]

Hawkbat Battalion was a clone trooper infantry battalion within the Grand Army of the Republic.[2] Hawkbat Battalion was part of the 3rd Brigade[3] and the 101st Regiment, both of which were units under the 327th Star Corps' 7th Legion.[2] Hawkbat Battalion itself consisted of 576 troopers divided into four companies, including Bacta Company and K Company, with the battalion falling under the command of Clone Major Twelve.[2]

Bacta Company was commanded by Clone Captain Tyto, while K Company was led by Clone Captain Deviss.[2] Hawkbat Battalion's clone troopers wore Phase I clone trooper armor, sometimes accompanied by brown rain ponchos, and were supported by LAAT/i gunships.[1]

History[]

One of the first clone trooper units to be deployed, Hawkbat Battalion saw action during the First Battle of Geonosis of 22 BBY. The battalion was given orders to march directly into the fire of a Separatist spider droid column, and decimated almost to the last man. Captain Deviss, the leader of K Company, heroically stayed behind in a shallow bomb crater, risking his own life to tend to two critically injured soldiers. After defending their position for three hours, the casevac team finally arrived. His men rescued, Deviss was honored with a medal and given a new command.[2]

After Order 66 and the end of the Clone Wars, the unit was integrated into the Stormtrooper Corps of the Galactic Empire.[source?]

Behind the scenes[]

Hasbro sold a figure of a Hawkbat Battalion trooper in 2007 as part of their Thirteenth Anniversary Collection. Other figures of the series, such as the ARC heavy gunner and clone SCUBA trooper were sold in the following year.
