The Herglic Alley was a hyperspace route that connected[1] the planet[2] Giju and the world of Byblos within the Colonies region of the galaxy. Giju acted as a junction between the Herglic Alley and the Rimma Trade Route, while Byblos acted as a junction to the Corellian Run. The route shared its name with the sentient Herglic species.[1]

At some point prior to 10 BBY,[3] the pirate queen Maz Kanata marked the Herglic Alley on a map in the book known as the Smuggler's Guide. The map's key identified the route as one of the "real" trade routes for smugglers to use, as opposed to the official ones.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Herglic Alley was first mentioned in Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, a reference book written by Daniel Wallace and released in 2018.[1]

  3. The entry in Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide mentioning the Herglic Alley is placed chronologically prior to an entry written by the criminal Tobias Beckett. Solo: A Star Wars Story depicts Beckett's death on the planet Savareen, and Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide dates the events on Savareen in the film to nine years after the proclamation of the New Order. As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the proclamation to 19 BBY, Beckett's death must occur in 10 BBY, and so his entry in the guide and those chronologically before it must all be set prior to or during 10 BBY.
