This article is about the compact blaster pistol known as a hold-out blaster. You may be looking for the small-sized stingbeam.

A hold-out blaster was a type of blaster pistol, used as a personal sidearm for easy concealment, often employed when other weapons or equipment were not viable or were simply unavailable.

The ELG-3A blaster pistol wielded by Padmé Amidala and her Naboo Royal Handmaidens was a hold-out blaster that became practically a standard accessory for diplomats and nobles in need of a personal sidearm.[1] Padme and Quarsh Panaka used two Q2 hold-out blasters when they retook the Throne room and arrested Nute Gunray and Rune Haako.[2] Hera Syndulla used a Blurrg-1120 holdout blaster whenever she fought outside the Ghost.[3] The deactivator hold-out pistol[4] could be fired to deactivate droids.[5] The EC-17 hold-out blaster was a compact, one-handed weapon holstered in the boots of Imperial scout troopers during the Galactic Civil War.[1] The amphibious female known as Frog Lady owned a Shard-3A holdout cluster blaster.[6]
