Holobooks were an ancient, self-contained data storage technology that required only small amounts of energy[1] and took the form of slim, crystalline boards emitting a blueish glow.[2] They were user-friendly and offered many modes of interaction.[1]
A few of the holobooks from the Great Jedi Library of Ossus were evacuated and held in the Jedi Archives on Coruscant.[3] The Jedi Archives contained many holobooks, alongside standard data-tapes and rare holocrons.[4] The archives in the Batuu Jedi temple had holobooks from across the Galactic Frontier.[5]
