The Homing Beacon was StarWars.com's free biweekly newsletter, sent out to subscribers via e-mail. It served as a supplement to the content found on the site. Near the end of 2007, it switched to weekly publication instead of biweekly. The first issue was released on January 27, 2000,[1] lasting 358 issues in total with the final issue released on March 19, 2011. While early issues provided unique source information, later issues (post-issue #239)[2] eventually moved to a purely advertising platform with no unique source articles.[3]
