Description[]

Horizon Base planet

Horizon Base was located on a planet in the Outer Rim.

Horizon Base was an Imperial outpost that was both a shipping port and refueling station.[4] It was located on a a planet[1] in the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories,[4] in a sector that was controlled by the Empire[3] by 3 BBY.[5] The base rose out of portal-like underground installations. In total, six docking areas were present, with the circular buildings surrounded by dozens of individual docking bays—three of which directly surrounded the main spire, while the other two were more distantly adjacent. The main spire of the base also rose slightly higher then the other docking areas.[3] The exterior of the base included cargo containers, barrels, and a market. Civilians were present on the station and would sell items such as droid parts.[3] The interior of the station included corridors as well as cargo loading areas.[2]

Finn and Gannis Ducain on Horizon Base

In the year 3 BBY,[5] during the Galactic Civil War between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance, the rebel group known as the Spectres, including Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, Sabine Wren, Garazeb Orrelios, and Ezra Bridger, raided Horizon Base to steal fuel needed for Phoenix Cell's fleet. During the mission, the rebel astromech droid Chopper, who had been left to guard the ship, was accidentally left behind after the others left with the stolen fuel. Stranded, the droid chose to board the class four container transport designated 241 that was departing the station and, with the help of a new ally, the inventory droid AP-5, soon reunited with Phoenix Cell.[3]

By 34 ABY[6] Horizon Base was controlled by the First Order. During the First Order-Resistance War, Resistance members Poe Dameron, Finn, and Gannis Ducain traveled to Horizon Base on a mission to recruit Mezlo's Oruan group for the Resistance. As Finn and Ducain infiltrated the base, they were spotted by two stormtroopers who they defeated by dropping cargo crates on them before running away. Navigating through the inside the base, the two agents were caught by a candori, and met Mezlo's group of refugees. They were interrupted by several more stormtroopers, but fought them off and attempted unsuccessfully to recruit the Oruans, as they preferred to find their place elsewhere. However, the Oruans did agree to help the Resistance in a time of need.[2]
