Medical frigate Redemption
Hospital ships, also known as medcenter ships[1] or medical frigates,[2] were vessels used to treat wounded soldiers. During the Clone Wars, Pelta-class frigates were used as medical frigates to serve as hospital ships.[3] When clone trooper Tup was required to be sent to Kamino for a medical evaluation and required protection, Medical Frigate 517, a Republic frigate, was used.[4] Luke Skywalker was treated in one following the duel at Cloud City, after Darth Vader revealed to Luke that he is indeed his father, and cut off his right hand.[5]
