The House of Cron was an ancient and powerful noble family from the Tion Cluster.
History[]
The House of Cron was the royal family that ruled the ancient Kingdom of Cron in the Tion Cluster.[3] The House already existed at the time of the Xim Wars when the head of the family, Duke Robeir II, was acquainted with Xim the Despot.[2]
The House of Cron still existed at the time of the Clone Wars.[4] At that time, the Tion Cluster was divided in two states: the Kingdom of Cron and the Tion Hegemony. As the latter had lost its former glory and was only known as a remote backwater region,[5] the House of Cron funded the Allied Tion Historical Society in order to promote the rich history and legacy of the Hegemony.[4]
The House of Cron still ruled the Kingdom of Cron during the Imperial Period.[3] However, the Kingdom became an Imperial client state after the Clone Wars and its territory was reorganized into an Imperial sector known as the Cronese Mandate. The Kingdom of Cron kept a nominal independence[1] but its monarchs had to swear allegiance to Emperor Palpatine. Robeir XXIII was the King of Cron during the Galactic Civil War.[3]
