The House of Tion was an ancient and powerful noble family from the Tion Cluster.
History[]
The House of Tion already existed at the time of the Xim Wars when the head of the family, Lord Tion, was acquainted with Xim the Despot.[2]
Millennia later, the House of Tion ruled the Tion Hegemony as a royal family.[3] Despite intense rivalry with the Thirty-seven Families of Desevro,[4] the family administered the region for centuries[3] During the Cold War and subsequent Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, both factions negotiated with the House of Tion in order to obtain the support of the rich Tion Hegemony in the conflict.[5][6] In 3639 BBY,[7] the exiled Tionese scientist, Doctor Sannus Lorrick, unleashed a Rakghoul plague outbreak in the the Tion Hegemony in order to take revenge on the royal family. As the Hegemony descended into chaos, the Tion royal family reluctantly accepted help from the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire to deal with the situation and eventually eliminate Lorrick.[5][6]
Later during the Galactic War, a House of Tion tomb was excavated.[8] At some point during the Cold War, the Livien civil war broke out, with Rebel factions warring against the House of Tion.[9]
The House of Tion still existed at the time of the Clone Wars.[10] However, the Tion Hegemony had already lost all of its former glory at that time and was only known as a remote backwater region.[11] The House of Tion therefore funded the Allied Tion Historical Society in order to promote the rich history and legacy of the Tion Hegemony.[10]
