Plot summary[]
Mission to Staggec[]
On the Moon of Staggec in the Outer Rim Territories, Galactic Republic Wookiee Senator Yarua and his daughter Viiveenn join Senator Padmé Amidala on a diplomatic mission. Yarua has promised to exchange a valuable item in the form of a Jedi artifact to Staggec's delegation in return for their alliance. After their Consular-class light cruiser lands, Amidala gets acquainted with Viiveenn but quickly notices that things are awfully quiet, especially since they have had no reception. Just then, multiple Separatist frigates appear in orbit, and as a result, Yarua takes the Jedi artifact that he's in possession of and hides it inside of a doll that his daughter has. Realizing that they are in danger, Yarua embraces his daughter before sending her off into a nearby forest to hide from the incoming enemies.
Jedi to the rescue[]
Meanwhile at the Jedi Council Chamber on Coruscant, Amidala informs the Jedi Council via hologram that a trap was set for them on the Moon of Staggec and that they need assistance due to the Separatist presence. Jedi Master Mace Windu immediately offers to go, but Master Obi-Wan Kenobi steps up and volunteers himself and Anakin Skywalker due to their history with Senator Amidala. Wanting Anakin to learn the restraint that comes with diplomacy, Yoda and Windu agree with Kenobi and let them go, even if there is going to be little diplomacy left in the mission.
Upon landing on Staggec Skywalker, who is very concerned for his secret wife Amidala, immediately takes off in search of her. When the Jedi don't find anything aboard the Consular-class cruiser, they discover footprints leading to the forest and soon discover the young Wookiee girl named Viiveenn. From his past adventures to Kashyyyk, Kenobi is able to understand and speak Shyriiwook and converse with the girl. He learns that her father was captured by battle droids along with the others.
Capture and escape[]
As she leads them through the terrain, she hands Skywalker a blue flower that she picked. They eventually reach a canyon and look down upon droids loading the prisoners onto a shuttle. Before they can plan out their next actions, Viiveenn slides down the cliff in an attempt to reach her father, but Kenobi takes off after her and grabs the young girl before she can be harmed. However, Kenobi is incapacitated in the process and he and Viiveenn are taken prisoner along with the others.
Skywalker tries to come to their rescue but is too late as the shuttle has already taken off by the time he deals with the remaining battle droids. Meditating on the situation, Skywalker slows things down and lets the Force guide him to make his next decision. Aboard a Separatist frigate in orbit, Kenobi is taken to a prison cell but had only been pretending to be unconscious. He follows the droids out of the door and meets up with Skywalker in the hangar where he has just landed their Jedi shuttle. Kenobi informs his apprentice that Amidala and the others are being held on level 3.
Escaping the Separatist frigate[]
When Anakin makes his way to go rescue them, he is surprised to find that Amidala has already gotten herself and the others out and is leading them through the ship with a blaster in hand. The two acquaint with each other in a way that doesn't reveal that they are married. Skywalker leads the group with his lightsaber at the ready. Meanwhile, Kenobi discovers the location of Senator Yarua, who is being interrogated by General Grievous. Kenobi leaps down from the vents, but when he orders for Grievous to release the Senator and his daughter, the cyborg activates his lightsabers and engages Kenobi in combat.
When Yarua and his daughter attempt to flee, Viiveenn is snatched by Grievous and he holds a lightsaber up to her throat, threatening to kill her. Grievous does this knowing that the Jedi have a soft spot for innocents. Before he can make a next move, Yarua charges at Grievous and tackles him through the shields and right out into the vacuum of space. While Yarua bravely sacrifices himself and takes Grievous momentarily out of the equation, the Jedi are able to lead the others to safety and flee to the Moon of Staggec aboard their shuttle.
Aftermath[]
While in hyperspace, Amidala comforts the grieving Viiveenn and Skywalker tells his wife that she will make a great mother someday. After Kenobi informs them that transportation to take Viiveenn back to Kashyyyk is being arranged, he ponders on what was so important to Senator Yarua as we get a close up of Viiveenn's doll which secretly has the Jedi artifact hidden inside.
