Hyperspace relays,[2] also known as hyperspace relay stations,[1] were devices that ensured the transmission of hyperwaves from transceiver to transceiver.[2] In star systems lacking hyperspace relay stations, starships had to navigate using hyperspace beacons or navigation buoys unless the ship had a sophisticated navigation computer.[1]
