ISB Attendant, or simply attendant, was a title given to junior officers of the Imperial Security Bureau who served as assistants to ISB Supervisors. They were delegated various responsibilities by their commanding officers, but sometimes also held specific appointments, such as Attendant Felzonis who manned the ISB datavault.

Description[]

ISB Attendants,[3] or simply attendants, were junior Imperial Security Bureau officers in the staff of ISB Supervisors[1] of the Investigations department.[2] Attendants uniquely wore gray tunics and black breeches as part of their uniforms, as well as rank insignia plaques bearing a row of two blue tiles[1] denoting the rank equivalent of Lieutenant[2] and two code cylinders (one in each pocket).[1] Their uniforms also included a black Imperial kepi and black gloves.[4] Attendants each reported to their respective Supervisors, who themselves reported to Major Partagaz. The major chaired meetings with the supervisors[1] that sometimes also included their attendants.[5] The ISB Attendants worked in the ISB Central Office on Coruscant, often within the offices of their superiors.[1]

History[]

In 5 BBY, during the Imperial Era,[6] Lieutenant Dedra Meero had at least two attendants within her staff. Attendant Heert served as her direct aide, assisting her in reviewing records and hunting for information.[1] Attendant Corv assisted in summoning Syril Karn for interrogation[5] and later accompanied Meero to the planet Ferrix.[7] Lieutenant Blevin had at least three attendants under his command, who briefed him on events he had missed while on Ferrix.[4] Felzonis was an attendant who manned the datavault in the ISB Central Office.[8] Following the heist on Aldhani, several ISB Attendants and ISB Supervisors were summoned to the conference chamber by Major Partagaz for an emergency briefing.[9] Supervisors Lonni Jung and Lagret each had at least one attendant.[7]

In a deleted scene for Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, an officer wearing a gray uniform with black trousers can be seen running behind an officer in the typical white ISB uniform.[10] The officer's uniform matches that worn by ISB attendants.[1]
