During the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic maintained a communications tower on the comet Iceberg Three in the Calamari system. When the system was attacked by the Confederate General Grievous around 21 BBY, Clone Commander CC-3636 and a Jedi Knight used the communications tower to warn the Jedi High Council of the impending invasion of the system.
