"I've waited thirty years for this. I still remember my last orders. The day the real war began."
―Iden Versio[src]

Iden Versio was a female human soldier who served in the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

Versio grew up on Vardos. Her father was an Imperial admiral, and her mother an artist, who contributed to the designs of propaganda posters. She trained her entire life to be an Imperial commander, and joined the ranks of the Galactic Empire, but was not without her criticisms of it.[2] She participated in the Battle of Yavin under the call sign TIE Sigma Three.

During the war Commander Versio was given command of Inferno Squadron. In 4 ABY,[3] she participated in the Battle of Endor and witnessed the destruction of the second Death Star.[1]

Knowing they were defeated, the Inferno Squadron looked to her for direction. Versio led her troops to avenge their Emperor, by hunting down the people responsible for his demise and the destruction of the second Death Star, namely, Luke Skywalker.[1]

Personality and traits

Versio saw Emperor Palpatine as a great leader, and was fiercely dedicated to the Empire, due to her father's Imperial background and her planet's pro-Imperial sentiments.[1]

Behind the scenes

Iden Versio first appeared in a teaser trailer for the upcoming 2017 video game Star Wars Battlefront II that was leaked on April 11, 2017. The character was officially revealed in the Star Wars Battlefront II panel at Celebration Orlando on April 15, 2017. She will be portrayed by Janina Gavankar.[1] From a development standpoint, Versio is intended to be one of the "nobler heroes" of the Empire.[2]
