During the Galactic Civil War, the Imperial Army maintained a training center on the planet Jardeen IV. General Arndall Lott was in charge of Walker Operations and Tactics at the center, and the Star Destroyer Reliance, under the command of Captain Iolan Gendarr, guarded the facility. The pair evacuated the facility following the Battle of Endor to create their own warlord faction.
