The Imperial Intelligence and Security Bureau offices were a series of offices that were located in the Citadel Tower of the Imperial security complex on the Outer Rim planet Scarif, which belonged to the Galactic Empire's Imperial Intelligence and Imperial Security Bureau organizations. The RA-7 protocol droid 4D6-J-A7 served as an administrative assistant[2] in the Imperial Office of Security, one of the offices in the facility.[3] The droid was often exposed to classified information while stationed there.[2]

In 0 BBY, during the Battle of Scarif, the entire tower, which included the offices, was destroyed[1] by the Death Star superweapon on the orders of Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, so that the Death Star plans stored within the Citadel Tower's vault would not fall into the hands of the Rebel Alliance.[4]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Imperial Intelligence and Security Bureau offices were first mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, which was authored by Pablo Hidalgo and published by Dorling Kindersley.[2]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, including the destruction of the entire Citadel Tower during the Battle of Scarif, to 0 BBY. Since Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide establishes that the Imperial Intelligence and Security Bureau offices were located inside the tower, they must have also been destroyed during the battle.

  3. 3.0 3.1 Star Wars: Geektionary: The Galaxy from A - Z states that 4D6-J-A7 was stationed at the Imperial Office of Security on Scarif. Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide establishes that the Imperial Intelligence and Security Bureau offices were located in the Citadel Tower, where the same droid worked as an administrative assistant. Therefore, the Imperial Office of Security must be within the office complex.
