The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

The Galactic Empire established a small outpost on the moon Yavin 4 sometime after the Battle of Yavin, during the Galactic Civil War. The outpost consisted of two watchtowers and fortified walls that protected two small dome-shaped buildings. It was established in the jungles near a river. Imperial troopers and two AT-STs guarded the outpost.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] Colonel Veers stayed at this outpost for a short time during the Project Dead Eye incident.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Imperial outpost was a location in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3]

The building was one of the five small Imperial outposts — along with the Dantooine, Dathomir, Endor and Lok outposts — added to the game for the second act of the "Cries of Alderaan" story arc,[1] released with the "Publish 3" on October 8, 2003.[4] Imperial players were randomly sent to one of the five outposts during the second act to meet with an Imperial Commander who sent the player to a communications outpost to relay a message to Doctor Vacca.[1] During the third act of the story arc, introduced with an update published on January 22, 2004,[5] the players were once again sent to one of these outposts to meet with Colonel Veers, who asked the player to attack a Rebel research facility.[1]

  2. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
