"Imri, aren't you from there?"
"Yes and no. My father was from Genetia, and my mother was from Hynestia, and we lived on both planets before my parents took me to the temple on Hynestia when they discovered I was Force-sensitive. I only remember it a little bit."
―Vernestra Rwoh and Imri Cantaros[1]

A male individual from[1] the Expansion Region[2] planet Genetia lived during the High Republic Era. They, along with a female individual from[1] the Colonies[2] planet Hynestia, raised a human son named Imri Cantaros[1] who was born around 246 BBY.[3] During his childhood, Cantaros lived on both of his parent's homeworlds for a period of time until his Force-sensitivity was discovered by his parents, who then took him to the Jedi Order's temple on Hynestia so he could be trained as a Jedi.[1]

In 231 BBY,[4] Cantaros—now a Jedi Padawan—was present on the space station Starlight Beacon with his Master, the Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh, and met fellow Padawan Reath Silas. After Rwoh brought up Silas' recent trip to Genetia, she asked her Padawan if he was from the world, to which he informed them about his father and mother, and his time living on both of their homeworlds.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Imri Cantaros' father was mentioned in the 2021 young-adult novel The High Republic: Out of the Shadows, written by Justina Ireland and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I.[5]
