A terrestrial planet[3] located in the Indoumodo system of Wild Space,[1] Indoumodo was a lush world[2] with jungles and forests that were home to kouhuns,[3] poisonous arthropods that dwelled in damp caves and passages underground.[4] The creatures were also known to dwell in vast, hollow trees and hunted dog-sized creatures that lived in the trees' crevices.[5] Located near the end of the Corellian Run, Indoumodo was a destination for assassins and poisoners who would venture to capture the kouhuns for use as untraceable killers.[2]
Shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY,[6] the bounty hunter Jango Fett tasked fellow hunter Zam Wesell with using a pair of starved kouhuns from Indoumodo to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala on Coruscant. The assassination was a failure, as both kouhuns were killed by Jedi Anakin Skywalker.[7]
Behind the scenes[]
Indoumodo was introduced via mention in the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones: The Visual Dictionary, written by David West Reynolds.[8] The planet received a visual depiction in the 2006 reference title The New Essential Guide to Alien Species.[9] The 2009 book The Essential Atlas placed the Indoumodo system, and thus Indoumodo, in grid square S-18.[1]
In contrast to other sources, the Star Wars Roleplaying Game Revised Core Rulebook, a 2002 rulebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game from Wizards of the Coast, claims that the homeworld of the kouhuns is unknown.[10] The forty-eighth issue of Star Wars: The Official Figurine Collection, released in 2007, misspells the planet's name as "Induomodo."[4]
