An ion hyper accelerator was a component that could be installed in a speeder bike to increase its top speed while boosting. Adding an ion hyper accelerator to a S57 Cardinal speeder bike cost 2500 credits and required a H-M engine power core, twenty five units of polycarbonate, and fifteen accu-accelerators.[1]
In 3 ABY[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess paid for the services of a speeder mechanic to upgrade her speeder bike with an ion hyper accelerator, providing the necessary parts.[1]
