Biology and appearance
Ishi Tib were sentient humanoid amphibians[1] hailing from the planet Tibrin.[3] They were distinguished by their green skin, the two large gold eyes extending from angular stalks on either side of their skull, and their beak-like mouths.[1] Among the Ishi Tib, opening ones beak without a sound was the equivalent of a human frown.[5]
Ishi Tib in the galaxy
Some Ishi Tib worked as criminals, with one being a part of the Ohnaka Gang[11] and at least two others working for Jabba the Hutt.[10] The Ishi Tib Pendewqell worked for Sidon Ithano.[8] Gume Saam was a senator representing the Techno Union,[12] and Govi, the Mariod of Tibrin.[4] During the Galactic Civil War, some Ishi Tib were fighting for the Alliance to Restore the Republic,[13] with the Ishi Tib Volk Aymeric being the captain of an EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate.[5]
Behind the scenes
The Ishi Tib species first appeared in Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi in 1983. They were identified in the episode guide for the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "A Test of Strength".
