- "The crash site was of a starship, named 'the Jade Starunner', and belonged to a war hero, Vendi Kjleno. Unfortunately, I couldn't find enough information about the war hero, only that he was in the Battle of Yavin 4."
- ―Excerpt from Tinrilo x'Rilsam's log
The Jade Starunner was a starship in operation during the Galactic Civil War. The vessel was owned by Vendi Kjleno, a war hero of the Rebel Alliance who fought during the Battle of Yavin.[2] By 1 ABY,[1] Kjleno was attacked by Imperial forces in the Endor system. The Jade Starunner was shot down above the Forest Moon of Endor and Vendi Kjleno was killed. A short time later, an explorer by the name Tinrilo x'Rilsam found the crash site of the Jade Starunner on Endor. In the wreckage, the explorer discovered a damaged datadisk containing information about the last flight of the Jade Starunner and the fate of the war hero.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The wreckage of the Jade Starunner appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[3] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] The wreckage was one of many unmarked points of interests on the moon Endor.[3] Following the release of the Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed expansion pack in 2004, rare data storage unit devices could sometimes be looted during space battles. One such data storage item, named "an Explorer's Log (7/8)," contained a detailed backstory for the Jade Starunner.[2]

Notes and references[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
