Plot summary[]
In a secret gambling den on Oosalon, an Aqualish bouncer opens the door to a mysterious figure and demands a password, but the man forces his way in and calls out gambler Fissark Tozan. Introducing himself as Jango Fett, the Mandalorian bounty hunter, he explains that he’s here to collect the bounty on his head since he owes the Crymorah Syndicate a Sabacc debt. With this, Fissark and his accomplices stand up from their table of drinks and cards and draw their blasters, but when they prepare to take Fett down, Jango beats them to it and shoots them dead except for Fissark, who he captures with a cable as he tries to flee. With the bounty in his hands, Jango flies off with his jetpack through the glass ceiling and drops a thermal detonator on the gambling den’s remaining patrons.
Elsewhere in the Regional Republic Headquarters on Jaloria, Republic Governor Tok leads negotiations for a treaty to end the war on Glee Anselm fought between its two species the Anselmi and Nautolan people. Since the Republic wants to help the treaty in any way that they can, Chancellor Valorum has authorized the Republic museum to release one of its most valuable artifacts, the Hope of Glee Anselm. Sculpted from the royal jewels of both the Anselmi and Nautolan people before the war, the relic symbolizes harmony and the beautiful connection between the two species, with the Anselmi having the sacred Firestone of King Skrawll on it, and the Nautolans having the Leviathan Gem. As the two sides argue over whose possession it should be in, a group in black and red armor enter the building and state that they’re performing a robbery.
Afterwards on the HoloNet News, it’s announced that the Glee Anselm statue was stolen, and while Republic troops killed most of the thieves, one managed to get away with the relic. Investigations have been stalled due to the spontaneous combustion of the thieves’ armor, and it is yet another embarrassment for Chancellor Valorum’s administration. Meanwhile on Halmad in the Outer Rim at Y3-99’s Bounty Services, Jango Fett delivers Fissark Tozan to Y3-99 and is informed of a new job by the droid. Jango is shown a transmission of Governor Tok, and she wants him to recover the Hope of Glee Anselm on behalf of the Republic, and the Jedi can’t be involved because the Anselmi don’t approve of the Nautolan Kit Fisto being one of them. Being no Jedi and just a simple man making his way through the universe, Jango takes the bounty.
In the Two Blasters Bar on Daiyu, three Hauk brothers drink up and celebrate before they start going after the bounty for the Hope of Glee Anselm, and warn others to stay out of their way. When one man takes interest in the bounty fob, they swat his drink on the ground and leave the cantina. The man follows them into an alleyway outside and picks a fight with the Hauks, where he uses his excelling close combat skills to incapacitate them and defeat them with their own weapons that consist of electro staffs. Before leaving with the bounty fob, he reveals his name to be Vigor Struk.
In the Expansion Region in the Megalox Beta Penitentiary, the warden and many Republic judicials stand armed and ready for the prisoner transfer. As the prisoner Aurra Sing arrives on the elevator, Judicial Huijari secretly hands the warden a bag of credits for her troubles and the files she’s about to purge, but the warden has no clue about any files. The warden then tells Aurra Sing that she is remanded into the custody of the Judicial Forces of the Republic, and is going to track down a bounty hunter in order to commute her sentence.
Back on Halmad at the landing platform, Jango walks to his ship, Slave 1, with Y3-99 and spots a black armored group loitering around his ship. Jango makes short work of them, gunning them down and even doing so with a reflector disk to bounce his shots off of surfaces. After dealing with the group, Jango goes back to talk to Y3-99 about his upcoming bounty, but finds the droid destroyed. With this, the Mandalorian bounty hunter departs the planet on the Slave 1 to start his hunt.

All I've seen it narrowed down to is 'Between 40 BBY and 32 BBY' since its Valorum's time in office, did you have anything more specific in mind?")
