TRAIL OF LOST HOPE, PART 3
In the years before the Clone Wars, a lone bounty hunter makes is way through the
galaxy, one hunt at a time. His name is….

Jango Fett is searching for his most dangerous bounty yet – the thief of a valuable artifact known as the Hope of Glee Anselm. With a planet on the verge
of war and Chancellor Valorum's government in danger of collapse, time is running out for the bounty hunter to track his target.

The problem is that Fett has no idea who he is looking for.

But with the dreaded assassin Aurra Sing and a morally questionable judicial agent on his heels, Jango's troubles are only beginning….

On a Republic ship in the Roxuli Sector, Aurra Sing studies the file of Judicial Huijari just as he enters the room, and she pretends to be looking at the maps of their destination and tries to sell it by explaining that there’s potential danger in the landing zone.

Meanwhile, Jango Fett lands on the mining planet Roxuli in Slave 1 and strolls into an old rundown town that he notes is a good place to disappear. He is welcomed by a protocol droid who stops him in his tracks, and warns that as the company representative for the mining company, he’ll have to leave his weapons at the town limits. Jango says that he follows his own rules, and explains that he’s looking for someone not so abiding when asked what brings him to a law-abiding town. Just then, the droid's head is blown off by a group of criminals from behind, and they state that they aren’t going back to a Republic jail cell. Jango states that they don’t look smart enough to be the one he’s after, but when he tries to dismiss them, he is quickly surrounded as the criminals don’t want any risk that they could be the ones he’s after. When they open fire, Jango uses his jetpack to cause confusion and avoid their shots, resulting in them hitting each other. One tries to apologize to his fallen comrade, so Jango uses him as a body shield and tells him that he can apologize in the afterlife. One scared boy is left, and Jango uses his grapple to disarm him and give him a piece of advice - he’s in the wrong line of work.

Elsewhere in the Jalor System aboard the Emissary, a Republic diplomatic cruiser, Governor Tok virtually meets with an Anselmi diplomat and the Nautolan Fiarok. The two diplomats are upset due to time being wasted and no progress being made in the retrieval of the Hope of Glee Anselm, but when Tok tries to keep things civil, the Anselmi fully blames the Nautolans and states that they are preparing for war.

Back on Roxuli, Jango heads into a tavern and warns its patrons not to move and that one of their deaths wouldn’t be the first since he’s arrived. He explains that no one needs to be afraid and he’s just here for his bounty, but when he mentions the thief of the Hope of Glee Anselm, a female Nautolan takes off and runs outside. She doesn’t get very far before Jango catches up and trips her with his grapple. She gives her name of Nakano Lash and holds out a small pistol, but when Fett approaches her, he is blasted to the ground by the sniper rifle of Aurra Sing. As the fellow bounty hunter stands over him, he believes that Sing is still mad over the job on Niamos, and she responds by knocking his helmet off while expressing her anger over how he abandoned his partner on that job. While Nakano sits on the ground, she is approached at blaster point from behind by Judicial Huijari who she recognizes, but Huijari is disarmed by Fett’s shot before he starts to be choked out by Aurra Sing with a wire. Sing calls out to Huijari and asks if he called for backup from the Judicial outpost on Dorin, and the latter secretly arms a thermal detonator. Aurra reminds Jango of their Pyke spice-runner job, and with this the two perform a set of moves that leave Jango in the sights of Aurra’s sniper rifle, but she shoots straight by him and drops Huijari who was planning on killing them both. Afterwards, Jango comes to the realization that it was Aurra who sent the message to him saying to meet on Roxuli, and Aurra reveals that there is no Judicial outpost on Dorin, and a real Judicial would’ve known that meaning that Huijari is an imposter.

Safe again, they go to talk to Nakano and she unveils the Hope of Glee Anselm. She explains that she and her friends were recruited to steal it, and Huijari was with the contact who supplied them. They were promised that stealing the relic would be a major victory for the Nautolans, and she’d also just wanted revenge for the Anselmi killing her family. However, they were double-crossed with their suits booby trapped, and she only survived because of a malfunction in her detonator. Sick of the trouble it’s caused, Nakano throws the relic on the ground, and the Hope of Glee Anselm shatters into pieces. However, Nakano reveals that it’s a fake, meaning that they’ve all been set up.

In the Two Blasters bar on Daiyu, Vigor Struk and every other bounty hunter around him suddenly have their bounty fobs activated.
