"He [Arndall Lott] was eventually promoted to general and placed in charge of Walker Operations and Tactics training on Jardeen IV. After the defeat of the Imperial forces at the Battle of Endor, subject fled the Imperial facilities on Jardeen IV with Captain Iolan Gendarr, commander of the Imperial Star Destroyer Reliance, also stationed at Jardeen IV."
―Airen Cracken, Wanted by Cracken[src]

Jardeen IV was a planet in the Expansion Region's Trans-Jardeen sector. It was the site of the Imperial Army training center, used by the Galactic Empire for teaching the tactics of utilizing walkers in combat. Shortly after the Battle of Endor, Captain Iolan Gendarr of the Imperial Star Destroyer Reliance and General Arndall Lott, both stationed on Jardeen IV, fled the planet before the arrival of New Republic forces.

Description

Located in the Expansion Region's Trans-Jardeen sector,[1] Jardeen IV was a terrestrial planet that occupied the fourth orbital position[2] in the Jardeen system.[1]

History

"After the Hoth campaign, Gendarr was promoted, and eventually became captain of the Imperial Star Destroyer Reliance, assigned to the Imperial Army training center on Jardeen IV. Gendarr left Jardeen shortly after the Battle of Endor, and it is believed that Gendarr aided General Lott in escaping from the planet before the Republic forces arrived."
―Airen Cracken, Wanted by Cracken[src]

At some point between the Battles of Hoth and Endor,[2] fought during the Galactic Civil War in 3 ABY and 4 ABY, respectively,[4] the Imperial Star Destroyer Reliance, commanded by Captain Iolan Gendarr, was assigned to the Jardeen IV Imperial Army training center. Around the same time, General Arndall Lott was in charge of Walker Operations and Tactics training at the planet's Imperial facilities.[2]

Shortly after the Imperial forces were defeated at the Battle of Endor, Gendarr fled Jardeen IV before the New Republic forces arrived there. New Republic General Airen Cracken believed that Gendarr also aided Lott in escaping the planet.[2] In 7 ABY,[5] Cracken mentioned Jardeen IV in entries of the datafile Wanted by Cracken that were dedicated to Gendarr and Lott.[2]

Locations

The Galactic Empire used an Imperial Army training center on Jardeen IV[2] to teach the tactics and techniques for success in combat with the All Terrain Armored Transport and All Terrain Scout Transport walkers.[3]

Behind the scenes

Jardeen IV was first mentioned in the 1993 Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game supplement Wanted by Cracken, which was written by Louis J. Prosperi for West End Games.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Jardeen system, and therefore Jardeen IV, in grid square K-16.[6]
