Jari was a Togruta male who was a member of Saw Gerrera's Partisans.

Biography[]

Jari was a male Togruta who worked as a member of the Saw Gerrera's Partisans during the Imperial Era. He generally worked with a crew consisting of him, Xosad Hozem, and Bilder, and frequently stayed at Gerrera's outpost on the planet Wrea. At one point, he joined Gerrera, Hozem, Bilder, and Jyn Erso on a mission to raid a civilian cruiser that the Galactic Empire was using for clandestine operations in the Western Reaches. After boarding the Imperial ship, he returned to the transport tube and discovered an Imperial scientist attempting to get past Jyn, who was left on guard duty and found herself hesitant to shoot. Jari shot the scientist and concernedly asked Jyn why she hadn't fired.[1]

At some point, Jari became aware that Jyn was the daughter of acclaimed Imperial scientist Galen Walton Erso, whom the Partisans had been tracking. Some time later, Gerrera learned of Jari's knowledge and announced that there was a traitor in their ranks. He then told Jari, Reece Tallent, and Jyn to join him on one of their new shuttles. After traveling to an Imperial-occupied planet, Gerrera revealed Jari as the traitor and told Tallent and Jyn to string him up. Jari, who was in fact innocent, resisted, but Gerrera shot him in the shoulder, allowing Tallent to bind him with plastoid ties. After a nervous Jyn blindfolded him and Tallent gagged him, Gerrera disposed of Jari at an Imperial barracks in an unknown location, under the pretense that Jari was leaking mission details to the Empire. In fact, Gerrera did this due to Jari's knowledge of Jyn's status as Galen's daughter, which put her at risk.[1]

Personality and traits[]

Jari was pleasant and kind to Jyn. He was friendly to his fellow Partisans, particularly Bilder.[1]
